Engineered to Love You – Nick and Kristine

Finding a lovely lady who would care to invite you to drop by a church and pray is like finally solving for the X in the equation of love. Or at least in Nick and Kristine’s story, they solved it together.

Nick and Kristine met in 2008 at an Electro-Mechanics plant in Laguna where they worked as engineers in the same department. They would go out as workplace buddies. “We often dine out together with some colleagues. We enjoy each other’s company,” Kristine recalled, “and that connection eventually blossomed to the relationship that we have now.”

But progress was a little faster on Nick’s end. “I’ve always had a huge crush on her since the beginning,” he confesses, “during that point in my life when I was neglecting God, Kristine constantly reminded me to go to church to pray. Like whenever we pass by a church, she would always insist that we take time to visit the house of God for some quiet time.”

“Kristine brought God back to my life and that’s when I decided I will do everything just to win her heart!” he resolved. Good for Nick who, by the way, had some leverage on Kristine’s heart as her “teddy bear”.

She shares: “I used to call him ‘my teddy bear’ because he’s pleasantly chubby and cute. He’s very sweet. He makes me feel appreciated, protected, cared for, and happy. It wasn’t long until I noticed myself feeling sad whenever he’s on leave, and feeling delighted whenever I see him enter the office.”

Hmmm, we smell love sparking in the circuit board!

Soon, the two began connecting like a concave up function approaching infinity with optimal coefficient static friction. Alright, that previous sentence got us to level 10 confusion, but hey–to Nick and Kristine, the engineering of love makes perfect sense!

“‘Walang paligoy-ligoy’ is what we’d like to call it,” Kristine explains, “The moment we both admitted our feelings for each other, we knew without a doubt that we’ve already found the love of our lives. We planned our wedding right away. Straight and simple.”

Wow, talk about excellent percentage precision! (Sorry, we can’t help it.) Perhaps that’s just how it is when it comes to love: once you’ve found it, you never let it go.

Today, Nick and Kristine are happily building their careers (and their family!) in Singapore–far away from here yet their hearts’ home altogether. As Kristine puts it, “even when we are here in a foreign country, we’ve become each other’s home –a happy reminder of what life should be.”

So here’s to wishing you an amazing journey together, Nick and Kristine! We join you on the road to a life filled with–and we quote your list–” ordinary memorable days, lots of trips, happy kids, good health, long life, family, friends, contentment, ability to see the bright side of challenging situations, security, safety, tons of hugs and kisses, never ending conversations, love!”
