How To Make 8 Years Work and Worth It: Josh and Kat

Long engagements are quite common nowadays. Many of our Wang couples come from relationships that have lasted from five years to a decade, and sometimes over a decade, before they were married! But to make those relationships work without falling apart, breaking up, or at least calling for a cool off somewhere along the way, that’s almost impossible!

And then came Josh and Kat! After eight years of hope, joy, and courage to fight for each other, Josh and Kat show us that love is worth it.

Josh met Kat in 2001. During that time, though, Kat was still in a relationship and so the two never really moved past friendship stage. But when Kat became single again in 2004, Josh had the chance to be introduced again to Kat. Finally, the time was perfect. Josh and Kat became a couple a month after, and the rest was history.

And eight years after, here they are, still holding hands. So what’s their secret?

“Patience and constant communication, of course,” Kat reveals, “We always see to it that we fix our problems before we sleep at night. That’s why we never ever had a cool off or break-up all throughout our eight years of being together.”

Sweetness is also something you never let falter, the two add. “For the past eight years, we’ve never lost our sweetness. This created a strong bond between us,” described Kat. “Our family and D-friends can attest to it; we always hold hands, hug, and snuggle (but not in a PDA way, though)!”

Finally, Josh and Kat share that what makes the years work and worth it “is the selfless and conscious effort to always make your partner happy.”

It doesn’t get any more kilig than that!

Share with Josh and Kat as they take their eight-year journey to this sweet day when they begin forever.
